How Does Lumecca Work as an Innovative Skin Resurfacing Treatment?
Visible spots, pigmentation, superficial vessels, and other types of damage to the facial skin can make you want to hide from the world. Expensive concealers and over-priced topical creams don’t seem to make a worthy or positive impact–is there anything that can? Yes! Check out one of the latest services, Lumecca™, an innovative method of skin resurfacing added to the Chadwell Facial Plastic Surgery menu. Learn how this intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment can target and improve areas of the face, to help you resurface with more resilient skin and confidence.
How Does Lumecca™ Work as an Innovative Skin Resurfacing Treatment?

- Minimal to no pain
- Less time-consuming
- Requires no downtime
- Effects are visible after only one or two treatments
No pain or downtime with optimum results?! Before you say, “sign me up,” do you qualify for Lumecca™? Let’s take a look at a few factors that may indicate that Lumecca skin resurfacing is right for you.
Lumecca™ Candidates May Exhibit the Following Facial Skin Conditions:
- Skin discoloration and pigmentation
- Age spots
- Superficial vessels
- Photo-damage or uneven skin texture
- Scarring
- Blemishes
- Fine lines
- Vascular lesions
Provided that an individual is in good health, has realistic expectations, has a treatable condition and has an appropriate skin type, he/she will most likely qualify for Lumecca skin rejuvenation.
How Does Lumecca™ Compare with Other Types of Skin Resurfacing?
At Chadwell Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Chadwell also provides chemical-based skin resurfacing device that utilizes radiofrequency energy delivered through a microneedling handpiece. In comparison to Lumecca™, these forms of skin resurfacing are equally effective but address different conditions and create varying amounts of downtime.
For example, deep phenol peels can significantly improve advanced signs of aging like deep wrinkles but are better suited to lighter skin tones. Unlike Lumecca™, chemical peels do require downtime and involve some physical restrictions for a short time.
Fractora® is actually used on the same device (InMode) as Lumecca™, but Fractora® utilizes radiofrequency energy. Fractora® is a non-ablative process that can be used for the face, neck, and chest to promote collagen production and improve the texture and appearance of skin.
